Windows is
already pretty quick but it can go faster!
Quite often we blame Windows when our machine take a long time to
strat-up but the problem may not be with Windows at all. Many
third-party software products iunstall software that slows our machines
down significantly. By removing these, sometimes, unnecessary add-ons
we can speed up our systems.
It's also possible to strip off parts of the Windows operating system
that you may not need or use. This isn't difficult to do - you just
have to make sure you don't remove anything that is critical to the
operations of your machine.
As we go through the tutorials we will learn what we can and what be
can't delete.
The advantages of removing these unneeded bit and pieces is that you
use less disk space and Windows no longer has to deal with them, so
speeding up and reducing memory requirements.
Windows also stores lots of files that you may have used once and never
need again. Examples are tempory files that are created by some pieces
of software and not deleted on shutdown, there are also lots of other
bits and pieces that can end up on your system that are no longer needs
such as pointers to software you may have removed from your computer.
There is available free and excellent software to help clean out all
these wasteful files - some in Windows itself
and others available from excellent sources.
