There are so many shortcut keys that you can use
with
windows. They can make your life much easier when you use them. I wont
tell you all of them because that would be so hard to remember, instead
I will tell you the most important ones. Notice that if the active
application uses the same shortcut key, Applications shortcut will be
used instead of the windows one.
Windows Key: Windows Key + E: Opens the Explorer
window (my computer).
Windows Key + R: Run (like Start -> Run).
Windows Key + F: Finds files or folders.
Windows Key + M: Minimizes all windows and shows
the desktop.
Windows Key + Shift + M: Undo Minimize all windows
(restore windows again)
Windows Key + L: Locks your computer.
Windows Key + Tab: Cycles through taskbar buttons.
Control Key: Ctrl + C: Copies the selected files
and folders (or the selected text).
Ctrl + X: Cuts the selected files and folders (or
the selected text).
Ctrl + V: Pastes the previously copied or cut file
and folders (or text).
Ctrl + Z: Undo the last action.
Ctrl + A: Selects All files and folders in
explorer window.
Ctrl + F: Displays Find files or folder in the
active explorer window.
Ctrl + W: Closes the active explorer window.
Alt Key: Alt + Tab: Cycles through the running
applications
windows. Keep the Alt key pressed while pressing the Tab key to cycle,
leave Alt key any time to switch to the desired window.
Alt + Spacebar: Opens the system menu for the
active window.
Alt + Enter: Displays the properties of the
selected item (like the properties of a file in explorer window).
Alt + Underlined letter: Presses the button which
has underlined letter in any dialog also does the same for menu items.
Function Keys: F1: Displays Help.
F2: Renames the selected file or folder in the
explorer window .
F3: Displays Find files or folder in the active
explorer window.
