PDF compression and creation software

PDF files can get rather large and when it comes to archiving or
e-mailing them that size can become a bit of a problem. To help
overcome this issue a free piece of software has become available that
will compress your PDFs quite well. Older PDF files will compress
better than new ones as new compression algorithms in Acrobat does a
far better job of compression these days. Older files can be compressed
by about 35% and the newer ones by around 5% - all worthwhile if you
deal with a large array of PDF files.

If you have PDFs to compress then you probably need a way of creating
PDFs in the first place and if you can't afford the professional
version of Acrobat then you need something like a free PDF creation tool. Well PrimoPDF could be just what you're looking for.
It is a printer driver that redirects any print job to the screen,
prints it on your printer, creates a prepress doc (all fonts are
embedded) or an eBook. You can also edit document properties such
as Author, Title and Keywords. You can also modify document security.
